Justified "Coalition"

Raylan closes in on an ever more unpredictable Quarles; Boyd enters into an alliance with Dickie Bennett in a last ditch attempt to recover Mags' fortune.

"You know what you're trouble is? You keep thinking your tough." - Raylan

Well, that was just awesome! This is what happens when you have good writers!

"Coalition" brought every major player for this season to the table, settling some story lines and setting up for what is sure to be an amazing season finale.

What we learned:
  • Limehouse isn't really the Big Bad his facade portrayed. Sure, he isn't above bending the rule of law every now and then, but his main concern has always been finding a way to let the people of Nobles' Holler to live in peace. His bark seems worse than his bite. It was ambitious to use Errol to set in motion his little plan to get rid of everybody at the bank, even if everyone saw through it.
  • Boyd really needs to do some recruiting. Between Arlo going crazy, Johnny, being wheelchair bound, and Jimmy being an idiot, he had some major problems keeping his prisoners in order. This came to bite him in the ass when he gets double crossed by Duffy, unbeknownst to him, and is knocked in the explosion that was supposed to take out Quarles. Ava seems to be his only reliable help.
  • Speaking of  crazy Arlo, Aunt Helen makes an appearance! Sort of. Arlo's crazy mind (in the form of Helen) convinces him to go after Dickie, locking Ava in the basement to get away. He's still on the loose somewhere.
  • Quarles is sneaky little bastard who seems to be able to get out of every jam. First, he escapes from Boyd's den of hookers and chains. Then, he manages to not blow up (but did catch aflame), put a bullet in Trooper Tom (he was doomed once he uttered the words "son's t-ball game"), and escape alive. He should probably lay off the OxyContin, though.
  • Raylan got to put a bullet in yet another Bennett, this time Dickie. It appeared Dickie was still alive at the end of that dance.
  • Turns out the $3.2 million was never Dickie's to have. Mags left to Loretta, which gave us an opportunity to enjoy some Loretta/Raylan banter. It was nice to Raylan let her keep the money. It was also nice to see Kaitlyn Dever again. The girl has some acting chops. Too bad she can't be on as a regular.
Notable Quotes:

"The end they pull the curtain back. Turns out the guy's kind of a pussy." - Raylan to a Limehouse lackey about the Wizard of Oz. I love his point of view on things.

"I'm trying to do what I've always tried to do." "Which is?" "Get people to leave us the hell alone." - Limehouse and Rayla. Shows Limehouse's true intentions all along.

So the finale is set. Boyd is hurt. Quarles is on the run. Arlo is still missing. Raylan's got to clean up everybody's shit, and hopefully not get killed.

I can't wait!!!

What did everybody else think?
